Whoohoo, it's finally Shark Week! And that means a whole week of celebrating one of the ocean's most fearsome and beloved predators via ART.
I'm submitting this to #SharkWeekSketchJam and I hope that's okay, as I already drew today's shark last year, and this shark is was in the jam from 2010 that I missed.
The magnificently snaggle-toothed sand tiger is a definite favorite of mine. Despite their ever protruding jagged chompers, they are actually extremely docile and because of that, quite popular with aquariums. In fact, I got to see them up close at the Point Defiance Zoo in Washington.
--- SHARKS ARE IN TROUBLE. They've roamed our oceans for more than 400 million years, but now shark populations face extinction globally. It is estimated that 73 million sharks are killed every year due to commercial and recreational fishing. Check out SHARK SAVERS to see how you can help. ---
Last nights MythBusters was really good. I loved how they droped the ball about how sharks need help. With them saying that a lot more people (me included) will try to help out.
